Refund Policy

In cases of Department of Education Default:
The Department of Education will refund all tuition fees if it is unable to provide the course described in the Letter of Offer. This refund will be paid within two weeks of the proposed commencement date of the course. No written request is required.

In cases of Student Default:
Please note the following conditions relating to default by the student or their family:

  • all approved refunds will be paid within four weeks of receipt of the written request
  • all approved refunds will incur an administration charge of AUD$300
  • all approved refunds will be paid net of any commission paid to education agents
  • all approved refunds will be paid to the student's parents unless an alternative has been requested by the parents in writing.

Tuition fees will be refunded in the following circumstances:

  • 100% of tuition fees paid will be refunded where the student is not granted a Student Visa by the Australian Government provided that a copy of the visa refusal letter is submitted to the Department of Education
  • 80% of tuition fees paid will be refunded where an applicant withdraws from their enrolment before commencing their course
  • 50% of tuition fees paid will be refunded where a student withdraws within the first three weeks of commencing their course
  • 50% of tuition fees paid, only for school terms not begun, will be refunded where a student withdraws after the first three weeks of commencing their course
  • 50% of tuition fees paid will be refunded for the period between the confirmed commencement and the actual start date for delays arising from the issuing of visas, but only where the period of delay is more than 10 weeks.

Tuition fees will not be refunded in whole or part for any of the following reasons:

  • where a student transfers to another provider
  • where a student's enrolment is cancelled, deferred or suspended except where the Manager International Services determines that there were compelling or compassionate reasons.

The unused portion of Homestay fees will be refunded if a student moves into independent accommodation, or withdraws from a course or transfers to another provider.

All applications for refunds must be on the Request for a Refund form or in writing within 90 days of the action that has led to the refund request and addressed to:
